Want that timeless "Wassell" styling but don’t want to have to deal with over paying for a leaky rusty tank at a swap meet? We has your solution! The 2 gallon "Wassell" Peanut Bobber Tank. This tank features a high tunnel so that the tank sits very low on the backbone of your frame. Un-drilled front and rear universal mounting tabs keep mounting this tank simple.
Popular screw in style gas cap bung, single 3/8" NPT and dual rear 1/4" NPT petcock bungs give you plenty of options for petcocks and gas caps. You cant go wrong with this classic styled gas tank!
Even though these tanks are pressure tested from the factory. We recommend sealing any custom tank with POR15 (Part #105-0169) or Kreem Tank Sealer (Part #105-0002) before painting. It is cheap insurance and we use it on every bike that we build. Also assure there is no stress on the tank our mounting hardware when tank is mounted.
This tank sits very low on the backbone of your motorcycle frame. Please check measurements to make sure this will fit your bike before purchasing. Does not fit on a Yamaha XS650 (hits top motor mount), you can use SKU# 105-0125 mid tunnel instead.
This tank does not fit 2004-newer Sportsters as the backbone tube is too large in diameter.
Tank Dimensions: 17" overall length from tip to tip of mounting tabs, 8-1/2" overall width, 2-1/8" wide tunnel, Rear Tunnel 2" deep, Front Tunnel 6" at deepest point.
